1938 Zenith Console tube radio model 9S262 SOLD!!

$1,200.00

This is a 1938 Zenith 9 tube model 9S262, Zenith’s most famous and collectable year. It is sporting the fabulous “Motor Drive Robot Shutter Dial” and green tuning eye. The large black dial is in very nice shape.  The cabinets’ walnut veneer is nicely restored with a lacquer finish and toned lacquer color trim. Wood repairs were made to the damage areas but can be seen. The grille cloth is a reproduction of the original pattern. The knobs are the original wood Zenith knobs, no reproductions here. The superheterodyne chassis is a performer and plays full dial scale, loud and clear. The radio has had a complete recap electronic restoration - all the electrolytic caps were replaced with new production parts. All the paper foil capacitors were replaced as well. The dial belts are new for smooth motor operation and tuning. The chassis is clean with only minor rust. The radio has very nice reception with no hum. A brand-new NOS green eye tube was installed to dress up its playing appearance. An outside antenna is necessary on old tube radios or a long wire. I did install a wire loop as an antenna. A new power cord was installed for safety. An audio jack has been installed so you can connect your music source to it.
