This is a Zenith 5 tube radio model 5S29 one of Zenith’s most famous and collectable years. It was one of Zeniths tombstones for 1936.  The cabinets’ book matched walnut veneer is beautifully restored with a lacquer finish and toned lacquer color trim. Every effort was made to reproduce the original look as it came from the factory. The Superheterodyne chassis is a performer and plays full dial scale, loud and clear. The radio has had a complete recap electronic restoration - all the electrolytic caps were replaced with new production parts. All the paper foil capacitors were replaced as well. The dial belt is new for smooth tuning. The chassis is clean. The radio has very nice reception with no hum. An outside antenna is necessary on old tube radios or a long wire. An audio jack and switch has been installed so you can input an audio signal such as a Bluetooth. A new power cord was installed for safety.
