Zenith Model 807 1934 Tombstone Tube Radio SOLD!
Zenith Model 807 1934 Tombstone Tube Radio SOLD!
On this page is a Zenith model 807 tombstone. It was an entry level five tube radio with a "Small White Dial". The radio was introduced in July of 1934 as part of the 1935 model year.
The small white dial, also known as the "airplane dial", was used in 1935. The 1936 models started using Zenith's "Big Black Dials".
The cabinets’ walnut veneer is beautifully restored with a lacquer finish and toned lacquer color trim. The grille cloth is a period replacement. The knobs are the original wood Zenith knobs, no reproductions here. The Superheterodyne chassis plays full dial scale, loud and clear. The radio has had a complete recap electronic restoration - all the electrolytic caps were replaced with new production parts. All the paper foil capacitors were replaced as well. The dial belt is new for smooth operation and tuning. An outside antenna is necessary on old tube radios or a long wire.
